Milwaukee, July 14, 2016 – Neighborhood House of Milwaukee is pleased to announce the hiring of Norm McGee as its new Director of Programs.  McGee will manage Neighborhood House’s preschool, after school programs, family services, and refugee programs, and play a key outreach and partnership role for the community center.

McGee is a Milwaukee native with a long and proven track record of working successfully with area families and youth, most recently at the Milwaukee Job Corps. McGee worked for more than 20 years at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee where he served for 12 years as Director of Program Development, Sports, and Recreation, responsible for programming in 35 branches in the region.  He also served as both Executive Branch Director and Program Director of the Hillside Boys & Girls Club.

A strong advocate for the importance of schooling for our youth, McGee earned his B.S. in Recreation and Leadership from the University of North Dakota under a full scholarship, with additional training in management. McGee’s working philosophy– “Education is the key to all we become”–  includes “an open door policy with my families, working one-on-one to find mutual wins.” McGee is a graduate of Milwaukee’s West Division High School where he was State Champion in track and field.

A sought-after speaker, McGee volunteers extensively with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and other organizations. McGee is a proud husband, father and grandfather and resides on the city’s northwest side.  He starts his new role at Neighborhood House on July 22nd.
