Msoc Hosts Wisconsin Saturday Night at 7 P.m. Ct
Golden Eagles continue season-opening six-game homestand
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men’s soccer team (2-0-2, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) hosts in-state rival Wisconsin (2-2-0, 0-0-0 Big Ten) on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. CT at Valley Fields.
Dryden on BIG EAST Honor Roll
- Dryden scored two goals in a 1-0-1 week for MU, including the game-tying goal in the 86th minute against Drake on Thursday, Aug. 28.
- The Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin native scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Chicago State.
MU Offense Soars over Chicago State
- The The Golden Eagles were led by Mitchell Dryden, who scored his second goal in as many games to open the scoring in the eighth minute.
- Joey Buchanan earned his second start of the season and scored his first career goal and recorded his first career assists.
- Nico Pendleton had a career-high three points with a goal and an assist. Hudson Torrez made his Marquette debut and scored in the 77th minute, the lone goal of the second half.
Dyden’s Late Equalizer vs. Drake
- The Golden Eagles had three different goal scorers in the draw with Drake. All six goal scorers on the night scored their first goal of the season.
- Justin Milovanov scored off a header from Mateo Stoka‘s corner delivery in the seventh minute for the first goal of the match.
- Mads Konrad Horgøien made his Marquette debut as a sub in the 30th minute and scored in the 38th minute from the top of the box to make it 2-1.
- Bryce Richards shot and the goalkeeper’s save in the 86th minute fell to Mitchell Dryden, who slotted the ball in the bottom left to tie the game with four minutes to play.
- Cameron Simpson got the start and recorded his second career clean sheet paired with a career-high three saves.
