MPD honors 911 Telecommunicators and Dispatchers for National Public Safety Telecommunications

MILWAUKEE, WI— On Sunday, April 9, 2023, the Milwaukee Police and Fire Departments are honoring 911 Telecommunicators and Dispatchers for National Public Safety Telecommunications. This week, sponsored by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International, takes place April 9th – 15th this year. It is a nationwide celebration of the thousands of workers who answer emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to people in crisis all around the world.

The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) appreciates the dedication and hard work of all our members that are assigned to our Technical Communications Division. They play a vital role in our department on ensuring the appropriate resources are being sent to those in need of service in our community. MPD wishes everyone assigned to Technical Communications Division a happy National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.
