QUEENS, N.Y. – The Marquette University men’s lacrosse team (6–4, 2–0 BIG EAST) outlasted St. John’s (2–9, 0–2 BIG EAST) in a double-overtime thriller, securing an 11–10 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Carsen Brandt led the way for the Golden Eagles with seven points on two goals and five assists. Brandt also became the eighth player in program history to reach the 100-career point milestone. Andrew Bowman made his first career start at attack and finished with four points, while Lucas Lawas anchored the defense with 14 saves.

St. John’s came out strong, scoring three first-quarter goals to take an early lead. Marquette responded with two goals of its own in the opening frame and continued to chip away, evening the contest at 4–4 by halftime.

The Golden Eagles found their rhythm in the third quarter, scoring three times to briefly take control of the game. Goals from Beau Westphal, Jake Bair, and Ethan Salvia helped Marquette build momentum and carry a narrow lead into the final period.

In the fourth quarter, Marquette extended its advantage behind two goals from Brandt and another from Bowman to build a 10–8 lead. However, St. John’s responded with a late surge, scoring twice in the final minutes to tie the game at 10–10 and force overtime.

Both teams had opportunities in the first overtime period but were unable to convert as defenses tightened and goalkeepers came up with key stops. In the second overtime, Marquette capitalized on its opportunity as Brandt found Nolan Rappis, who buried the game-winning goal.
