Milwaukee Recreation is now enrolling students for its summer Camps, CLCs and Safe Places. These programs offer a safe, supportive environment for youth in grades K3–12 during non-school hours.

Summer Camps, CLCs, and Safe Places provide a variety of academic, cultural, and recreational opportunities, including art, music, technology, sports, fitness, leadership training, and social-emotional development.

Before- and After-School programs include:

  • Child Care Camps: Milwaukee Recreation Child Care Camps serve thousands of MPS students with hands-on learning, creative play, and structured recreation. Led by qualified staff, each site promotes safety, creativity, and exploration. Wisconsin Shares reimbursements are accepted.
  • Community Learning Centers (CLCs): Through the CLCs, Milwaukee Recreation provides expanded academic enrichment opportunities during out-of-school time to support in-school educational efforts. In partnership with local agencies, CLCs increase student achievement and learning by offering engaging academic enrichment and fun spaces for youth to learn and grow.
  • Safe Places: Safe Places offer educational, recreational, and social enrichment activities for youth at MPS elementary, K-8, and high school locations. Under the direction of trained staff from agency partners, Safe Places provide youth with opportunities to engage in educational and social enrichment activities, and play in safe environments. Safe Places also support families by providing opportunities for parent involvement in various activities and social events.

Starting June 23, summer Camps, CLCs, and Safe Places will extend into the summer, providing young people with additional opportunities to learn, play, and grow. All summer sessions include free meals and a range of indoor and outdoor activities. Summer sites are open Monday through Friday, with locations available for youth ranging from K3 to 12th grade.
