Milwaukee, WISC:  As Sunday’s NFL playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks nears, the Milwaukee Public Market and Pike Place Market have agreed on a friendly wager in support of their local football franchises.

A gift basket, featuring local goods from vendors at each market, will be sent to the market whose team wins Sunday’s game from the losing market/state.

Milwaukee Public Market engaged in a similar wager in 2011 during the Packer’s Super Bowl game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when it wagered a gift basket with the Pittsburgh Public Market.

The public market, which opened in October 2005, is owned and operated by the City of Milwaukee Business Improvement District #2.  For more information about the Milwaukee Public Market, please visit MilwaukeePublicMarket.org or call 414-336-1111.
