MILWAUKEE, WI (Dec. 4, 2025) Milwaukee PBS and Milwaukee Film announced a new partnership that will bring select locally produced films to viewers across southeastern Wisconsin. The collaboration is designed to amplify the voices of Milwaukee-area filmmakers by offering an additional, high-visibility platform for their work.

Under this new initiative, Milwaukee PBS will curate and broadcast a selection of films, expanding their reach beyond the Milwaukee Film’s historic cinemas and into homes throughout the region.

“We are thrilled to work with the Milwaukee Film Festival to help more area filmmakers find audiences on Milwaukee PBS,” said Susan Kerns, Executive Director of Milwaukee Film. “We know how great these films are, because we show them to enthusiastic audiences at the Milwaukee Film Festival every year. We want to help make sure these works continue to find new fans. As a filmmaker, I know how difficult it is to distribute a film. When Milwaukee PBS approached me to partner on this initiative, I jumped at the chance. Milwaukee Film is committed to supporting Milwaukee-area filmmakers in all kinds of ways, so this partnership was an immediate yes!”

Milwaukee PBS leaders say the collaboration strengthens the station’s commitment to elevating diverse local stories and supporting the region’s creative community.

“Milwaukee is home to extraordinary artists from every genre including filmmaking. Milwaukee PBS is the perfect place to share these stories, we’re committed to elevating local perspectives,” said Debbie Hamlett, General Manager of Milwaukee PBS. “This partnership with Milwaukee Film allows us to shine an even brighter spotlight on the voices, perspectives, and artistry that define our community. We couldn’t be more excited to share these remarkable films with our viewers.”

Broadcast details—including film selections and premiere dates—will be announced in early 2026.
