Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative To Seek New Executive Director
Founded in 2008 and run by veterans, MHVI works to help homeless and at-risk veterans reach and maintain their highest levels of independence.
Milwaukee (June 9, 2017) – The Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (MHVI) announced Friday it was beginning a search process for a new executive director to replace Kirsten Sobieski, who has left the organization.
Board President Tom Williams said the group would be seeking a new executive director to take MHVI to the next level in its mission to assist homeless veterans.
“We are confident that MHVI will become even more effective at helping homeless and at-risk vets with new leadership and our great partners, generous supporters and dedicated staff and volunteers,” Williams said.
Founded in 2008 and run by veterans, MHVI works to help homeless and at-risk veterans reach and maintain their highest levels of independence. Since its founding, MHVI has helped more than 3,000 southeastern Wisconsin veterans and their families obtain benefits, housing, health care, furniture, household goods, food, clothing, transportation, toiletries and other necessities.
A job description and information about applying for the executive director position will be posted in the near future on the group’s website, http://www.mkehomelessvets.org/, and made available on area employment and veteran group websites.
