Milwaukee, Wisconsin, November 8, 2018 – Milwaukee resident, Ann Davis, founded Venture with Impact, LLC (VWI) in 2016 with the mission to rewrite the narrative on professional retreats, including social impact as a key component. VWI aims to expose professionals to new cultures, people, and ideas, so that they may become more informed and empathetic world citizens.

Following 85+ successful skills-based volunteer projects and the launch of coworking retreats in Peru, Colombia, Thailand, Portugal and Mexico, Venture with Impact is now leveraging its expertise to offer custom retreats to groups and teams and is looking for businesses and organizations interested in partnering to plan retreats.

As evidenced by the rising trend of digital nomadism, or traveling the world while working remotely, many workers are abandoning their cubicles, drawn by a desire to maintain a career while nurturing an adventurous identity. At the same time, voluntourism, or volunteer tourism, is one of the fast-growing segments in the travel industry today. Davis, recognizing these trends, found a way to combine the desires for travel and volunteerism into a unique program that specifically caters to wanderlusting professionals.

One of these apiring digital nomads, Eric Artanin, a Network Engineer at Local MSP in Waukesha, joined a retreat in Thailand, where he immersed himself in Thai culture for for 30 days and volunteered with BEAM, an organization that supports Burmese migrants. Eric worked with the NGO to build an improved IT system for file sharing and internal communications. Another traveler, Melissa Post, a therapist at ATI Physical Therapy, Wauwatosa, volunteered with patients at E-Nable, an organization in Medellin that 3D prints prosthetic limbs.

“My experience with Venture with Impact has made me a stronger person, more aware of the world and myself” say Eric Artanin.

VWI is thrilled to represent Wisconsin globally as the only organization of its kind to bring together professionals, and now groups, to provide them with the tools to work remotely abroad and the opportunity to connect beyond work and give back to the local communities. VWI is currently accepting applicants for 2019 for coworking retreats, and requests from organizations seeking to plan custom group retreats.
