MilwaukeeNov. 21, 2024Stacy Riley joins Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. next month as its new president.

Riley’s extensive experience in higher education spans three decades of senior leadership. Her strategic mindset, integrity and collaborative leadership philosophy stood out to the mission-driven nonprofit, as well as her aptitude for translating problems into custom solutions.

ECE launched its search for new leadership this fall when Margit Schatzman announced her upcoming retirement. Schatzman began her employment with ECE in 1983 as an international credential evaluator and has served as ECE president since 2007. She will continue in an advisory role through January 2025 to assist with Riley’s onboarding and staff transition.

“Stacy cultivates strong working relationships, makes real-time decisions, and resolves issues in ways that propel innovation and growth,” said Schatzman. “This demonstrates not only her technical proficiency but also her ability to navigate complex business environments. Knowing the organization is in her extremely capable hands is such a gift as I embark on a new chapter.”

Riley comes to ECE from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, where she served as executive vice president of student affairs. She holds a doctorate in education, with a focus on higher education and community college leadership, from Northern Illinois University and a master of science in organization and management.

“By ensuring qualifications are evaluated with fairness and accuracy, ECE empowers global mobility and fosters inclusivity, said Riley.  “Its mission to bridge cultural and educational divides resonates deeply with my belief in the transformative power of education. I’m excited to advance ECE’s mission and reach while driving meaningful change.”

Riley’s first day with ECE is Dec. 9. Her immediate focus will be working with senior leaders to implement the 2025 strategic plan. She will also oversee upcoming digital initiatives and forge new partnerships for the organization.
