Milwaukee, WI – October 6, 2026 – Every wicked tale has its beginning. Milwaukee Ballet opens its 2026/27 Season, Beautiful Illusions, with Michael Pink’s Mirror Mirror, a dark reimagining of the classic Snow White story running November 6–8, 2026, at Marcus Performing Arts Center.

Rather than beginning with the familiar poisoned apple, Mirror Mirror explores what came before it, revealing the complicated relationship between Snow White and her stepmother, Claudia, and the choices and circumstances that ultimately transform Claudia into the villain audiences know from the traditional fairy tale.

“Mirror Mirror asks us to look beyond the characters we think we know and consider what happens when temptation and the choices we make begin to shape who we become,” said Milwaukee Ballet Artistic Director Michael Pink. “The story is not simply about good versus evil. It is about how easily the line between the two can blur.” The production will also mark the final performances with Milwaukee Ballet of longtime Leading Artist Marize Fumero, following more than a decade with the Company. Fumero will reprise her acclaimed role as Claudia, the evil stepmother, a role she first performed when Mirror Mirror was last presented by Milwaukee Ballet in 2017.

Pink’s choreography is paired with an original score by longtime collaborator Philip Feeney, performed live by the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra. Striking sets and costumes by Todd Edward Ivins and lighting by Emmy Award-winning designer David Grill create a stylized world of light and dark, beauty and menace, reflection and deception.
