MCSO UPDATE: Pedestrian Fatality

Milwaukee, WI   (October 23, 2020): On Friday, October 23rd, at approximately 9:00 a.m., MCSO deputies responded to a vehicle that struck a pole, which was in the grass at the I-41/I-894 National Avenue off-ramp. Witnesses reported the female driver appeared dazed when she walked into freeway traffic and was struck by a semi-truck. Upon the deputies’ arrival, they found the driver unresponsive with injuries to her head and legs.

West Allis Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the driver deceased.

MCSO initiated a full freeway closure at 9:11 a.m. and reopened at noon. West Allis Police Department and Milwaukee Police Department assisted with the ramp closures.

MCSO Criminal Investigative Division is continuing its investigation into factors leading up to the fatality.
