Mayor Barrett to Announce Recipients of the 2021 Mayors Design Awards Monday, June 7
MILWAUKEE—Please join Mayor Tom Barrett and Interim Dean of the UW-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning Nancy Frank for a digital announcement of the 2021 Mayor’s Design Awards recipients on Monday, June 7 at 12:30 p.m.
Now in its 24th year, the Mayor’s Design Awards recognizes design excellence throughout the City of Milwaukee. Projects receive awards for adding value to their neighborhoods by restoring, constructing or enhancing their properties in a way that respects the urban fabric and contributes to the character of their surroundings.
Instead, the Mayor will announce the awards in a live streamed event that highlights the winners. The announcement will originate from the Innovations and Wellness Commons at 1609 W. North Avenue, one of the 25 projects that will be recognized.
Media are invited to view the announcement live on Zoom. Click here to access the live announcement. The full zoom meeting information is below. The announcement will also be live streamed on the Department of City Development’s Facebook Page (@milwaukeedcd).
During the week of June 7, a group of Mayor’s Design Award winners will be featured each day with a video posted on the Department of City Development’s social media pages.
