Martinsek & Krueger Elected MMSD Commission Chair, Vice Chair

(Milwaukee, WI) – Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) Commissioners today elected Kris Martinsek as Chair of the Commission and Carl Krueger as Vice Chair for 2018.
Martinsek is principal and owner of Martinsek & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in the provision of public information, public relations & marketing and government affairs & public policy. She has more than 40 years of experience in the public and private sectors working on highly visible public projects providing information and organizing the public around issues to gain support and move projects forward. Prior to starting her firm, Kris worked for the City of Milwaukee. She previously served on the Harbor Commission, the Wisconsin Women’s Council, and a variety of not-for-profit boards.
Krueger is currently the President of the Village of Brown Deer and been involved in public service since 1998. Krueger retired in 2014 from the business he owned that specialized in restoring water damage, flooding and related water issues. He has been married to his wife, Charlene, for 49 years and has three adult children who live in the Metro area.
Of the 11 Commissioners that run MMSD, seven are appointed by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and subject to Common Council confirmation. The other four Commissioners are elected by the Intergovernmental Cooperation Council, which includes elected suburban leaders from within the District.
