Marquette Track & Field Opens Indoor Season at Blue & Gold Invitational
Golden Eagles start season strong with Olsen's school record and four additions to all-time top-ten list.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Marquette Track & Field opened its 2025-26 indoor season Friday at the Blue & Gold Invitational hosted by Notre Dame at Loftus Athletic Center and Meyo Field. The Golden Eagles recorded numerous personal bests, four top-five program marks, and one school record in the opening meet of the season.
On the women’s side, Sanai Baker led the sprints with personal bests in the 60 meters (7.88, 16th) and 200 meters (26.36, 12th). In the 300 meters, Marley Stoller ran 40.60 for eighth place, a mark that ranks No. 5 all-time at Marquette. Other personal bests came in the 60 meters from Sophia Abraham (7.95), Norah Peiffle (8.11), Amerie Mitjans-Shapiro (8.18), and Sylvia Fochesato (8.45). In the 800 meters, Vanessa Henderson placed fifth in 2:26.52, followed by Ryleigh Ervin in sixth with a personal best of 2:26.85. The women’s “B” 4×400-meter relay team finished 10th in 4:15.15.
In the field events, Ally Broaddus earned a third-place finish in the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 16.77 meters (55-0.25), while Megan White added a fourth-place finish at 16.42 meters. In the jumps, Haneefa Adam placed fourth in the triple jump (11.17 meters / 36-7.75) and 22nd in the long jump (4.86 meters / 15-11.5). Kassidy Papa cleared 3.35 meters (10-11.75) in the pole vault for fifth place.
On the men’s side, Danny Olsen set a school record in the 300 meters, winning the event in 33.67. Frankie McGee added a fifth-place finish in 35.03, which ranks No. 5 all-time. Other strong performances included Drew Klopcic in the 500 meters (1:04.62, 5th, No. 6 all-time) and Charlie Richardson in the 800 meters (1:59.66, 7th). In the mile, Jack Chadwick ran 4:20.50 for ninth place, and Edgar Valles finished sixth in the 3000 meters (8:47.57).
The men’s “A” 4×400-meter relay team placed second in 3:18.40, while the “B” team finished sixth in 3:22.89. In the field events, Henrik Rosario recorded a personal best in the long jump (6.81 meters / 22-4.25) for sixth place. In the throws, Alex Matzke posted personal bests in both the shot put (14.40 meters / 47-3, 8th) and weight throw (15.52 meters / 50-11, 9th).

MU is off until the new year, as the Golden Eagles next compete on January 16th at the NYC Gotham Cup.
