Marquette Klingler College of Arts and Sciences hosting two-day panel on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, March 23-24

MILWAUKEE — Marquette University’s Klingler College of Arts and Sciences and the International Affairs Program will host a two-day panel discussion on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Wednesday and Thursday, March 22-23, in Emory Clark Hall room 111, 530 N. 16th St. Both discussions will begin at 4 p.m. and last approximately 90 minutes.

Registration is free, open to the public and available online. Media interested in attending the event in a reporting capacity should register online and contact Kevin Conway at kevin.m.conway@marquette.edu to coordinate coverage.

Wednesday, March 23: The Role of History, Politics and Identity in Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine

  • Panelists include Dr. Eugenia Afinoguénova, chair and professor of languages, literatures and cultures; Dr. Alan Ball, professor of history; Dr. Lowell Barrington, associate professor of political science; and Zack Dmyterko, Marquette alumnus and program assistant in the Congressional Office for International Leadership. Dmyterko is also a freelance journalist for The Ukrainian Weekly.

Thursday, March 24: International Politics and Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine

These panels are co-sponsored by the Departments of History; Languages, Literatures, and Cultures; Philosophy; and Political Science, as well as Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Honor Society of Political Science, and Sigma Iota Rho, the National Honor Society of International Affairs.
