“Like swinging at a wild pitch” – Assembly vote on Brewers stadium is a strike for WI taxpayers
Just one day after a statewide opinion poll found that just 29% of Wisconsinites support giving taxpayer funds for Brewers stadium repairs, the WI Assembly voted 69 to 27 to approve a massive $546 million subsidy to a profitable sports team. To do so now, with seven years remaining on the current lease, is like swinging at a wild pitch with no one on base. Thankfully, we still have time to put the ball in play, and maybe even hit a home run.
