License suspended for Milwaukee motor vehicle dealer

The state of Wisconsin suspended the motor vehicle dealer license for Discount Transmission and Auto Sales, Inc., located at 7808 W. Congress St., Milwaukee for failing to properly follow administrative requirements.

The order, issued by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles, determined that Discount Transmission and Auto Sales, Inc. violated state law when they knowingly provided false statements on title applications, indicating their name as the selling dealer for vehicles that belonged to and were sold by wholesalers.

The decision to suspend the license was upheld by a WisDOT hearing examiner on February 24, 2023. The dealer’s license is suspended for seven business days, from May 18 through May 24, 2023.

WisDOT’s Dealer and Agent Section licenses, regulates and resolves disputes about dealership sales and warranty repairs. It also investigates complaints about odometer tampering and title fraud involving dealerships and private sellers.
