Let Our Rivers Unite Us!

Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup Event Slated for April 20, 2024

By - Apr 11th, 2024 03:50 pm

MILWAUKEE – This Spring, Milwaukee Riverkeeper will host their 29th Annual Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup event.  This one-day, community-wide undertaking to clean up the waterways and care for the community is unlike any other in our state. Last year alone, 4,000 volunteers removed more than 100,000 pounds of trash from more than 90 locations across the watershed in just one day.

This year’s cleanup takes place on Saturday, April 20 from 9 am – 12 pm at over 90 locations all along the rivers throughout Milwaukee, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties. Thousands of volunteers are activated across the area removing nuisance trash and plastic litter that has made its way into our river system.

While our rivers have historically divided our cities, and neighborhoods, they also connect us all to our precious Great Lake, the source of our drinking water.  So instead, let our rivers and shared dreams for clean, safe, water, unite us. This incredible community effort brings together organizations, businesses, and neighbors across our watersheds to help restore the community spaces, rivers, and parks that mean so much to us all.

Participants must register ahead of time to take part. Those interested in joining the cleanup on April 20th can register here: bit.ly/MRKCleanup29
