Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off to Return to Fiserv Forum on Dec. 28-29, 2025

Wisconsin, Boston College, Western Michigan and Lake Superior State to compete in fifth annual men’s college hockey tournament

MILWAUKEE (Jan. 7, 2025) – The Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off men’s college hockey tournament will return to Fiserv Forum on Dec. 28-29. The fifth annual event will feature the three-time champion Wisconsin Badgers, along with Boston College, Western Michigan and Lake Superior State.

Semifinal games will take place on Sunday, Dec. 28, followed by the Championship and third-place games on Monday, Dec. 29. Matchups and tickets will be announced at a later date at www.fiservforum.com.

The 2024 tournament champion, Wisconsin will return for its fifth Kwik-Trip Holiday Face-Off appearance. After winning the inaugural event in 2021, Wisconsin advanced to the title game of the 2022 tournament before winning the title in 2023 and 2024. The Badgers have 26 NCAA Tournament appearances and six National Championships on their resume.

Boston College has a record of 12-3-1 in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign, and it has been ranked as the No. 2 team in the country for much of the season. The Eagles have 36 NCAA Tournament appearances (second all-time), 26 Frozen Four appearances and five National Championships.

Western Michigan has a 13-4-1 record so far this season and has been ranked in every poll throughout the 2024-25 season, jumping to No. 4 in the Dec. 30 poll. The Broncos have nine NCAA Tournament appearances.

Lake Superior State returns for its second Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off after competing in the 2022 event. The Lakers have 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and are five-time National Champions.
In the 2024 Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off, Wisconsin edged out UConn in an exciting third period, winning 4-3 to capture its third event title after shutting out Ferris State 8-0 in its semifinal matchup.
