Kam Jones Named BIG EAST Player of the Week
Senior guard earns award for fourth time in career
Marquette guard Kam Jones is BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 week, which included a 28-point effort in a win at Maryland, the league office announced Monday morning.

Jones averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week. The senior led the Golden Eagles to a 78-74 win at Maryland by scoring a game-high 28 points, including 12 straight for MU down the stretch. Jones had 12 points and eight assists in a 70-62 victory over Central Michigan. He ranks third in the league in scoring with a 24.0 mark.
Liam McNeeley, Connecticut, F, Fr.
McNeeley scored 15 points and grabbed three rebounds in a 90-49 victory against LeMoyne in UConn’s only game of the week. The Preseason BIG EAST Freshman of the Year ranks second on the team in scoring and rebounds with 14.3 and 8.0 averages, respectfully.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Jahmyl Telfort, Butler, F, Sr. – Posted 19 points, six rebounds and five assists in a win against SMU (81-70). Averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 boards in a 2-0 week.
Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton, C, Sr. – Averaged 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in only 25.5 minutes per game in a 2-0 week. Made 12-of-14 (.857) from the field.
Jayden Pierre, Providence, G, Jr. – Averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in wins over Hampton (60-51) and Green Bay (79-65). Shot 7-of-11 from 3-point range.
RJ Luis Jr., St. John’s, G-F, Jr. – Posted 21 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high seven assists in a win over New Mexico (85-71). Averaged 17.0 points, 8.0 boards and 4.0 assists in a 2-0 week.
