JO’S Early Learning Academy Awarded $5,533,506 to Provide Head Start and Early Head Start Services in Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI 9/1/2025 – JO’S Early Learning Academy is proud to announce that the Office of Head Start, through its Designation Renewal System, has awarded its organization with a $5,533,506 grant to provide Head Start and Early Head Start services to 205 children at two locations in Milwaukee.

JO’S has been providing high-quality, comprehensive early childhood programming to children in Milwaukee for over 25 years, and has been a Head Start and Early Head Start partner for over two decades—positioning JO’S to take the next step as a successful grant recipient and expand its impact on children and families in Milwaukee.

The grant, administered by the Office of Head Start, will support JO’S Early Learning Academy’s mission to provide high-quality early childhood education and family support services.

“We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity,” said Schnell Price, Owner and CEO of JO’S Early Learning Academy. “This grant will allow us to enhance our services, update and expand our facilities, and increase access to high-quality programming for children and families in Milwaukee. It is a vital investment in our community’s future, and will create meaningful impact for the children and families we serve.”

JO’S will offer Early Head Start and Head Start services to children from six weeks to five years old at two locations—4801 W. North Ave. and 3027 W. Greenfield Ave. The program will provide comprehensive services that include early learning, health, nutrition, mental health, and family support services.
