MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will participate in this year’s Farm Technology Days in Waupaca County on Aug. 5-7, 2025. Attendees are encouraged to stop by to learn about ongoing DNR initiatives and ask questions about natural resources and conservation.
The DNR tent at the intersections of Wisconsin Avenue and 6th Street will be staffed by the DNR Watershed Management, Water Resources, Forestry, Law Enforcement, Waste Management, Drinking Water and Groundwater, and Wildlife Management programs. Each program will offer unique insight into the DNR’s work and initiatives.
The Drinking Water and Groundwater program will again offer free, on-site nitrate screenings for private well owners. Attendees are encouraged to bring a clean container with a cup of well water. Results will be available within minutes. While take-home testing kits will not be distributed, staff will be available to answer questions about private wells and recommend additional testing if elevated nitrate levels are detected.
This is an excellent opportunity for Wisconsin residents to engage directly with DNR staff, learn about DNR programs and discover how they can help protect the state’s natural resources.
