Johnson Secures Federal Funds for Wisconsin
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said the following Friday, sharing that Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in northwestern Wisconsin will receive a $5.8 million federal Department of Transportation grant:
“I’m pleased that the Department of Transportation is awarding a grant to Red Cliff Band to assist with transportation and infrastructure repair and maintenance needs. I appreciate President Trump’s administration acknowledging and acting to address the infrastructure needs of northern Wisconsin’s tribes.”
The transit project in Bayfield constructs a multipurpose transportation center with storage and maintenance bays and transportation-related office space, and it purchases a road grader, a front-end loader, a tracked backhoe, plow trucks, and two additional buses for Miskwaabekong Transit.
