Milwaukee, WI. September 23, 2020 – Johnson Financial Group announced today they will lease space in one of downtown Milwaukee’s prime office buildings on Cathedral Square – Cathedral Place. The company plans to consolidate two of their downtown locations with the move said Johnson Financial Group CEO, Jim Popp.

“We’re excited to be making a significant, long term investment in what will become our flagship location in the heart of downtown Milwaukee” he said. “This move allows us to consolidate a few locations, while also creating a modern, progressive and collaborative space for our associates and clients.”

Johnson Financial Group leased 45,000 square feet, which includes prominent building-top and street-level retail signage, at 555 East Wells Street. The financial services company plans to consolidate its downtown Milwaukee associates to Cathedral Place by the fall of 2021. The company signed a 10-year lease and will occupy the 18th and 19th floors (top two floors) along with a 1st floor retail branch, pending regulatory and other 3rd party approvals.

Broker of record, CBRE and their Corporate Advisory team including Bill Bonifas, Matt Cariello, and Kenzie Kiefer, along with retail colleague and expert Andy Stefanich represented Johnson Financial Group on the relocation.

“Our team has represented Johnson Financial Group’s national real estate portfolio for quite some time, but this project – in our own backyard – stands out as a game changer not only for them, but for Milwaukee as well. It’s fantastic to see such a great commitment made by a company as well-known and respected as Johnson Financial Group, and I know they are going to love their new Milwaukee home,” said Cariello, First Vice President.

Van Buren Management is the building owner and Landlord. RINKA is the architect on the project and a general contractor and sub-contractors are not yet known.

Johnson Financial Group, with offices in Wisconsin, Arizona and Minnesota, is a privately owned financial services company offering banking, wealth and insurance solutions through its subsidiaries, Johnson Bank, Johnson Wealth, and Johnson Insurance Services.  For more information visit
