Iranian community holds vigil in Milwaukee tonight for Mahsa Amini
MILWAUKEE – The Iranian community will be holding a candlelight vigil in memory of Mahsa Amini in Milwaukee today, Sept. 23 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to show support for the people of Iran who are protesting the Iranian regime. The vigil will be held at 941 E Wisconsin Ave in Milwaukee.
Mahsa Amini, a 22 year-old Iranian woman, was beaten to death by the so-called “morality police” of Iran’s Regime for not complying to the compulsory hijab. Her unnecessary death triggered protests all over the country – spurring citizens to stand up for the rights of marginalized people.
The Iran government has shut down the internet in the country, so it is the duty of the Iranian community here in Milwaukee to be their voice and spread the movement to locations across the United States.
Join the vigil tonight to stand in solidarity for the Iranian people who do not have a voice and support basic human rights. For more information, follow the hashtag #Mahsaamini on social media.
