Hop Summer Nights Returns for Fifth Season

Milwaukee – The Hop, presented by Potawatomi Casino Hotel, is bringing back the popular Hop Summer Nights promotion, but adding a new twist to celebrate five summers of beating the August heat onboard The Hop. With the new “Ride. Chill. Win.” contest, Hop riders can earn a new entry into our Hop Summer Nights prize drawings every time they hop on The Hop or visit the website during the month of August. We’ll also be beating the heat with cool jazz and even cooler popsicles on board the streetcar on Sunday, Aug. 10, from 4-6 p.m.

To participate in the new “Ride. Chill. Win.” contest, riders simply need to hop on board throughout the month of August. Each of the Hop streetcars will have QR codes on board for riders to scan and log their journey. The more you ride, the more chances you’ll have to win. Hop riders can also enter the contest online at thehopmke.com (limit one online entry per day). We’ll randomly select lucky entrants throughout the month to win a limited edition Hop Summer Nights T-shirt.

We’ll also be celebrating Hop Summer Nights with a special event onboard The Hop on Sunday, Aug. 10, from 4-6 p.m. Local favorite Pete’s Pops will once again bring their refreshing “hopsicles” to the party, available for free to all riders while supplies last, while local pianist JL Russell and his Smoothwalk jazz group will treat riders to cool live jazz.

Joining the Hop Summer Nights event is as simple as hopping on board. While there are two M-Line streetcars in service on Sundays, only one will be hosting Hop Summer Nights. To locate the correct streetcar, riders are encouraged to download the Transloc real-time app by visiting thehopmke.com/real-time-app. On Aug. 10, look for an alert in the app notifying riders which streetcar features the free popsicles and jazz, and then use the real-time position of the car to hop on board. Riders can also be on the lookout for Hop Summer Nights decals in the windows of the featured streetcar.
