Hop Summer Nights Returns to the Streetcar This August

MILWAUKEE – The Hop, presented by Potawatomi Casino Hotel, is bringing back the popular Hop Summer Nights promotion, including the “Ride. Chill. Win.” contest that rewards frequent riders throughout the month of August. The month will culminate with our annual Hop Summer Nights on-board celebration, where riders can beat the heat with cool jazz and even cooler popsicles on board the streetcar on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 4-6 p.m.

To participate in the “Ride. Chill. Win.” contest, riders simply need to hop on board throughout the month of August. Each of the Hop streetcars will have QR codes on board for riders to scan and log their journey. The more you ride, the more chances you’ll have to win. Hop riders can also enter the contest online at thehopmke.com (limit one online entry per day). We’ll randomly select lucky entrants throughout the month to win a limited edition Hop art print created by local artist Lauren Marvell.

Hop Summer Nights will wrap up with a special event onboard The Hop on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 4-6 p.m. Local favorite Pete’s Pops will once again bring their refreshing “hopsicles” to the party, available for free to all riders while supplies last, while local pianist JL Russell will treat riders to cool live jazz.

Joining the Hop Summer Nights event is as simple as hopping on board. While there are three F-Line streetcars in service on Sundays, only one will be hosting Hop Summer Nights. To locate the correct streetcar, riders are encouraged to download the Transloc real-time app by visiting thehopmke.com/real-time-app. On Aug. 30, look for an alert in the app notifying riders which streetcar features the free popsicles and jazz, and then use the real-time position of the car to hop on board. Riders can also be on the lookout for Hop Summer Nights decals in the windows of the featured streetcar.
