Press Release

Honoring the women who make our lives better each and every day

Joint Statement from Alderman Khalif J. Rainey and Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II

Today on International Women’s Day, and this month during Women’s History Month, we wanted to take a moment to recognize all the talented and amazing women who work tirelessly every day to uplift our community in countless ways.

To our mothers, wives and sisters who help bring stability to our families; to the strong civic and political women leaders both past and present who help break barriers and make our world a better, more inclusive place; and to the many female athletes and entertainers who continue to reach new heights and inspire generations of young women to dream big; we say thank you and we appreciate you.

We ask all of our fellow Milwaukeeans to reach out to a woman who has made a difference in your life to show how much they mean to you, because to be surrounded by great women is a privilege we should not take for granted.
