MADISON, Wis. – State Rep. Francesca Hong, Democratic candidate for Governor, today announced campaign finance totals for 2025 that underscore a rapidly growing, people-powered movement fueled by small-dollar donations and a network of volunteers across Wisconsin.

Since launching less than three months ago with virtually no money in the bank, the Hong campaign has built momentum by meeting Wisconsinites where they are with a message that resonates across party lines, hosting more than 100 grassroots events across the entire state.

From livestreamed telethons and restaurant takeovers to town halls, meet-and-greets and community fundraisers, the campaign has focused on building a coalition of working class people who are ready for a Wisconsin that works for everyone — not just the wealthy and the well-connected.

From September 17, 2025 through the end of the year, Hong’s campaign reported:

  • Total raised: $367,897
  • Total donations: 7,363
  • Average donation: $49.96
  • Median donation: $15
  • Volunteers: 1,650

“These numbers tell a clear story: Wisconsin is ready to change the broken system, and people are stepping up to make it happen,” Hong said. “We’re building a movement powered by everyday Wisconsinites — people who are tired of a rigged system and ready to build something better together. This campaign belongs to all of us.”

About 75% of total dollars raised came from donors inside the state.

Hong’s campaign has prioritized a small-dollar model to power organizing across Wisconsin, investing early in volunteer recruitment, local events and direct voter contact and rejecting the idea that statewide campaigns have to be bankrolled by the wealthy, corporations and special interests.

“Wisconsin deserves a Governor who answers to the people who live and work here,” Hong said. “This is how we win: by organizing everywhere, listening to everyone and building lasting power in every corner of the state.”
