Hit-and-run crash takes the life of innocent young girl
Statement of Alderwoman Chantia Lewis October 30, 2020
I send prayers to the loving family members and friends of seven-year-old Londyn Quesada, who was killed by a reckless driver on Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash as she was riding with her mother in a vehicle at N. 76th and W. Calumet Rd. in the 9th District. As co-chair of the City-County Carjacking and Reckless Driving Task Force, I am sadly all too familiar with the tragic consequences of this senseless and deadly behavior, and I cannot fathom how anyone could strike another vehicle, killing an innocent child – or anyone – and simply flee the scene, leaving the victim to die.
Please support the family if you are able, including attending a vigil for Londyn this evening at 7 p.m. at 76th and Calumet. Purple, pink and blue balloons are encouraged.
The driver who fled from the scene is still at large.
So while I ask for comfort and prayers for the family members of Londyn and her mother, I also urge anyone with information on the crash to please contact Milwaukee Police immediately at 414-935-7360, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS (224-8477) or via the app (P3TIPS.COM).
