Hi-Mount Community School to celebrate first day back with opening ceremony

On Tuesday, September 5, Hi-Mount Community School at 49th and Garfield will celebrate the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year with an opening ceremony beginning at 7:30 a.m.

The Hi-Mount opening ceremony will include not only the returning schoolchildren, but also several members of the local community who will be coming out to support and welcome back all of Hi-Mount’s students. Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, has expressed his enthusiasm for the return of students.

“I am excited to see all of our young people on their way back to school this year,” Alderman Stamper said. “I encourage residents to attend the welcome back ceremony and show their support for our schoolchildren, and I would also like to remind them to be more careful while driving now that school is coming back into session.”
