Health Commissioner appointment to be heard at next Public Safety and Health Committee meeting
Last week, Mayor Tom Barrett appointed Kirsten Johnson as Commissioner of Health for the City of Milwaukee. The appointment, which is subject to approval by the Common Council, will be heard at the next meeting of the Public Safety and Health Committee at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 28. The appointment will be item number one on the agenda.
Committee chair Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic encourages residents to tune into the confirmation hearing. “As the person who oversees public health programs and initiatives, the position of health commissioner is critically important to making sure our city is healthy and thriving, especially as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. I encourage residents interested in this appointment to share their thoughts via the City’s e-comment system, and to tune into the confirmation hearing at next week’s meeting,” said Alderwoman Dimitrijevic.
