Heads must roll over outrageous delay in police response to rape case
Statement of Alderman Joe Davis, Sr. July 23, 2015
I am stunned and saddened to learn of newspaper reports that it took Milwaukee Police three hours to respond to an 82-year-old woman’s call for help after she was attacked and raped at a bus stop last week.
This is outrageous and unacceptable! Heads need to roll, and the Police Chief needs to take personal responsibility for his department’s lack of performance on this breach of our Milwaukee citizens’ trust.
I had the opportunity today to ask the Chief of Police if the Journal Sentinel article was true, and his response was, “Yeah, have fun with it.”
