Growing the STEM Leaders of Tomorrow: Stem Forward Awards STEM Scholarships to Deserving Students
Milwaukee, Wisconsin – STEM Forward, Milwaukee’s leading non-profit advancing the STEM workforce through STEM education and programming, is pleased to announce the six new recipients of the 2026 STEM scholarships. STEM Forward’s overall scholarship program this year includes eleven students, totaling $33,000, including scholarship renewals. In partnership with our donors, STEM Forward is tremendously proud to help 11 students on their STEM pathways this next academic year.
The STEM Forward Scholarship Program, established in 1939, recognizes an outstanding high school graduating senior from southeastern Wisconsin who will attend a Wisconsin technical college, college, or university in the fall of 2026 and pursue a degree in a STEM field.
A second award, the Elizabeth Brauer Scholarship, is designated for a female high school senior graduating from a Milwaukee Public High School. STEM Forward recognizes that women are underrepresented in STEM fields and is committed to bridging the gap by offering opportunities tailored to female students. This scholarship is $3,000 annually, totaling $12,000 over four years!
To encourage and grow Milwaukee’s talent pipeline, STEM Forward also awards a $3,000 scholarship to a current deserving student from each of the following local higher education institutions: Marquette University, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Milwaukee School of Engineering, and the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. Each recipient has demonstrated academic success in the STEM field and substantial involvement in extracurricular activities and organizations.
We are proud to announce the 2026 STEM Forward Scholarship Winners:

Southeastern Wisconsin High School Scholarship: Phoebe Combs
Marquette University Robert Brauer Scholarship: Luke Gorman
