Governor Evers Signs Sen. Keyeskis “Tom Diehl Memorial Highway” Bill Into Law
Madison – Today, Governor Tony Evers signed Assembly Bill 155, authored by State Senator Sarah Keyeski (D-Lodi) and State Representative Tony Kurtz (R-Wonewoc) into law as 2025 Wisconsin Act 157. This bill, now law, designates US Highway 12 in Lake Delton as the “Tom Diehl Memorial Highway.”
Senator Keyeski shared the following statement in response:
“Tom Diehl made a tremendous impact on our state – particularly in Senate District 14’s communities of Lake Delton and Wisconsin Dells. As an innovative leader, Tom was instrumental in shaping and growing our tourism industry. Through his many leadership positions, including his role as president and co-owner of Tommy Bartlett Inc., Tom helped make the Wisconsin Dells the top family vacation destination in all the Midwest and make Lake Delton a vibrant place to live.
“While his accomplishments are impressive, one of the very best ways to learn about who someone truly was is to hear how their loved ones talk about them. I have had the honor of getting to meet some of Tom’s family since taking office, and through connecting with them, I have experienced their deep love and admiration for Tom as a patriarch of the family and a man of service.
“While Tom passed in 2024, it is clear that his legacy of service to others lives on through his family members who are proudly and skillfully carrying on the Diehl legacy. I believe it is only fitting to honor Tom’s life and legacy by naming US Highway 12 in Lake Delton the ‘Tom Diehl Memorial Highway,’ and I am so pleased that Governor Evers’ signed our bill into law to make this a reality.”
Assembly Bill 155 is a bipartisan bill that passed on voice votes in the Assembly on February 13, 2026 and in the Senate on March 17, 2026. The bill was presented to the Governor on April 1, 2026 and was signed into law on April 2, 2026.
