Governor Evers Demonstrates Strong Leadership During 2025 Budget Address
In stark contrast to President Donald Trump gutting federal funding for programs that support all people, creating economic uncertainty, and launching our nation into new chaos every day, Governor Evers, a steadfast leader in Wisconsin, delivered his 2025 Budget Address with a clear and responsible plan to uplift working people and provide certainty for Wisconsinites throughout our state.
MADISON, Wis – Governor Evers’ 2025 budget proposal provides a clear and concise plan that uplifts working people and families and invests in commonsense programs and services that make Wisconsin a strong and better state for all. Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein released the following statement:
“Declaring 2025 as “The Year of the Kid” prioritizes the next generation – our future leaders. I appreciate the Governor’s commitment to doing what is best for our kids by making child care more affordable and accessible and investing in our students and schools across the state.
“The Governor’s proposal includes nearly $2 billion in tax relief – including meaningful property tax relief for the average homeowner – while also providing needed assistance to local governments.
“Governor Evers’ state budget again demonstrates his commonsense and comprehensive leadership on issues that matter to working people and families. I hope my Republican colleagues put partisanship aside and do what is best for our state. We must follow the Governor’s lead and invest in Wisconsin.”
