Gov. Walker’s climate of corruption allows whistleblowers to be silenced, says Dana Wachs

"Gov. Walker seems more than happy to turn a blind eye to corruption and fraud happening in his administration."

EAU CLAIRE – Dana Wachs reacted today to recent news coverage that highlighted how Gov. Walker’s policies have had a chilling effect on whistleblowers in Wisconsin government. Wachs challenged Gov. Walker to restore whistleblower protections that safeguard taxpayer money:

“Gov. Walker seems more than happy to turn a blind eye to corruption and fraud happening in his administration. Pretending like fraud and corruption doesn’t happen doesn’t make it go away.

“We’ve seen Gov. Walker’s administration targeting people who come forward to expose fraud and blow the whistle on the Walker Administration while letting wealthy business owners who got WEDC loans only pay back a portion of the taxpayer money they owed. This is inexcusable.

“The message of Walker’s Wisconsin is clear: if you’re a wealthy special interest, you get special treatment. The taxpayers of Wisconsin deserve better than a governor who tolerates corruption.”
