Gov. Evers Orders Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
“On this National Day of Remembrance, we honor the memories of the servicemembers who perished that day and pay tribute to them for their bravery and sacrifice.”
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today ordered the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on Sat., Dec. 7, 2019, in honor of the more than 2,400 Americans, including 54 servicemembers from Wisconsin, who lost their lives in the attack on the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941.
“The attack on Pearl Harbor changed the trajectory of our nation and World War II, and deeply affected folks and communities across our state,” said Gov. Evers. “On this National Day of Remembrance, we honor the memories of the servicemembers who perished that day and pay tribute to them for their bravery and sacrifice.”
