Golden Eagles Place Sixth at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Marquette men’s golf team finished tied for sixth at the Shenkel Invitational this weekend with an 8-under par 856 at the Forest Heights Country Club. It is tied for the team’s highest finish of the season.

Mason Schmidtke paced Marquette with a career-low 6-under 210 to place tied for 12th. Following a 76 in the opening round, the junior catapulted himself up the leaderboard with back-to-back 67’s to close out the tournament.

Mischa Candinas also picked up a Top 30 result, placing 26th. The freshman began the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 71 before finishing his tournament at 1-under par.
