Girls Rock MKE Announces The Dinner Party, A Feminist Fundraiser
MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – Girls Rock MKE is thrilled to announce The Dinner Party, an exclusive, elevated five-course dining and drink experience and Girls Rock MKE fundraiser. On Thursday, November 14th, 2024, from 6:30pm-9:00 p.m., 60 diners will gather at Honeypie Cafe (2569 S Kinnickinnic Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207) for a five-course culinary journey prepared by six of Milwaukee’s top women and non-binary chefs: Ana Gottsacker, Alaina Smith, Gabi Padovano, Carson Leet, Bri Hall, and Ryan Radermacher of the PIE Inc. group.
Women-driven beverage partners Pink Boots Society and Knowlton House Distillery will provide expertly paired beers and cocktails to complement each course. Non-alcoholic beverage packages are also available.
The event will also feature a special acoustic tableside performance by celebrated Milwaukee musicians REYNA, the opening of the 2025 Ladies Rock camp registration, a raffle, a photo booth, and more.
The fundraiser takes inspiration from Judy Chicago‘s groundbreaking 1979 feminist installation piece of the same name, featuring mythical and historical women with a goal of ending ‘the ongoing cycle of omission in which women were written out of the historical record.’ “The Dinner Party is more than a meal,” says Executive Director Mary Joy Hickey, “It’s a celebration of women’s contributions to music and a testament to the power of community. We’re honored to partner with these talented chefs and partners to support our mission.”
