November 7, 2024 – Milwaukee, WI – Girls on the Run Southeastern Wisconsin will host its Fall Celebratory 5K Event presented by Husco, this Sunday, November 10th, bringing together over 700 3rd-8th grade girls from across Southeastern Wisconsin for an inspiring day of accomplishment and celebration. The event, open to the community, will take place at American Family Field and is a highlight for girls in the program of all abilities as they cross the finish line of a 5K, affirming their inner strength, confidence and perseverance.
“Completing a 5K is a tangible reminder to each girl of what she’s capable of achieving,” said Tina Jones, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Southeastern Wisconsin. “We are so proud of the dedication, resilience, and confidence our girls have shown throughout the season. This 5K isn’t just about running; it’s about self-discovery, goal-setting, and celebrating who they are and what they can accomplish. “
Participants will be joined by their 5K Buddy, family members, volunteer coaches, and supporters, as well as event volunteers who make this empowering experience possible. Over 20 corporate and community groups lead cheer stations along the course creating an atmosphere of support and celebration.
“What stands out to me about Girls on the Run is how the staff and volunteers show up 150% to help young girls realize their full potential not only for 5Ks but for life,” adds Frank Cumberbatch of Bader Philanthropies, one of the masters of ceremonies for the event.
