Gillian Battino Announces Candidacy for the 29th State Senate district
WAUSAU, WI– Today, retired radiologist and active member of her community, Gillian Battino, announced her campaign for Wisconsin’s 29th State Senate District.
For more than 20 years, Gillian and her husband have lived and worked in Central Wisconsin, and raised their kids there. Gillian holds deep respect for her friends and neighbors and values the strong sense of community. Now, she is running because hard working families cannot make ends meet and young people are losing hope. The current State Senator is lost in partisan politics while the community her family calls home is at risk.
Gillian knows that one of the best parts of living in a small connected community is that when things are tough, people step up and work together to take care of each other and fix the problems. So she is stepping up. She will work tirelessly for better jobs, affordable housing and childcare. She will work to finally fix the roads that support our agricultural communities and a large part of Wisconsin’s economy. And she will use her experience as a physician to make sure that Central Wisconsin has the affordable healthcare that we need.
Following her announcement event, Gillian Battino commented:
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to represent my friends and neighbors in the State Senate. For too long, the voices of our small towns and rural communities have been passed over in Madison. I’m running to bring a practical, solutions-oriented approach to the challenges we face. My priorities in the Senate will be meeting the core needs of our communities, more good jobs, affordable healthcare, and affordable childcare, investing in the public schools that hold our towns together while making sure we have clean air and water for the next generation of Central Wisconsin families.”
Due to Gillian Battino’s care for patients in her community and her dedication to the improvement of small-town Wisconsin, she has earned the endorsement of Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein:
