FREE COVID-19 vaccine clinic during inaugural VivaMKE Marketplace
Statement from Common Council members Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa, Alderman José G. Pérez and Alderman Scott Spiker
We are pleased to share the news that TOMORROW – Saturday, June 5th – there will be a great opportunity for those who have not been vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones from COVID-19 by getting vaccinated for FREE during the first ever VivaMKE Marketplace.
The Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation/Mexican Fiesta has created an initiative called Viva Milwaukee, or VivaMKE for short, focused on creating fresh and inviting experiences that embrace our local community. The inaugural VivaMKE Marketplace will take place tomorrow, Saturday, June 5th from 11 am to 4 pm at Flores Hall, 2997 S. 20th St.
Additionally, attendees at tomorrow’s VivaMKE Marketplace will be able to check out local vendors, artists, and music groups. They will also be able to find organic skincare products, earrings, art prints, organic, zero-waste tea, coffee, Mexican popsicles, food trucks, plants, and much more.
Anyone looking for details about COVID-19 vaccines or other MHD mobile vaccine sites should go to: www.Milwaukee.gov/COVIDvax. If you have questions about the VivaMKE Marketplace vaccine clinic, please contact Azucena Garcia at azucenagarcia@mexicanfiesta.org or 414-533-5460.
Vaccines prevent nearly 100% of hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19, and getting vaccinated is critical if we are to help the community get to significant levels of protection and immunity from COVID-19. If you have questions about the vaccine, COVID-19 testing, or other COVID-19 questions, please call the MHD COVID-19 Hotline at (414) 286-6800 or email ASKMHDCOVID19@milwaukee.gov.
