Former Wisconsin State Legislature Staffer, Katrina Blossom Morrison, Announces Candidacy for 12th Assembly District

MILWAUKEE, WI — Following the lead of State Representative LaKeshia Myers, Katrina Blossom Morrison is excited to announce her candidacy for the 12th Assembly District in the August Primary.

Morrison states, “The 12th Assembly District has been my cherished home since my parents relocated to Milwaukee when I was in preschool. Service is a fundamental part of my life and a tradition within my family. My father serves with dedication in the city of Milwaukee, and my mother is a proud retiree from the state of Wisconsin. My family has over 30 years of experience combined serving the Milwaukee community. I am committed to continuing this legacy of civil service and advocating for underrepresented groups within the State Legislature, prioritizing the needs of our constituents above all.”

“My journey in politics began with an internship in the Wisconsin State Legislature, working for Senator Chris Larson during my time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, I had the privilege of working alongside State Representative LaKeshia Myers as a staffer from 2019 to 2020. Shortly after, I was accepted into the University of Wisconsin Law School. Representative Myers’ dedication to education and public service is inspiring, and I was honored to witness her legislative achievements, including the signing of significant education bills by Governor Tony Evers.”
