Former Wisconsin Revenue Secretary Peter Barca Joins Natural Allies for a Clean Energy Future Leadership Council
(Madison, WI) — Natural Allies for a Clean Energy Future announced today that former Wisconsin Department of Revenue Secretary and longtime public servant Peter Barca will join the Natural Allies Leadership Council, leading the organization’s efforts in the Badger State.
As Wisconsin’s economy continues to expand with new manufacturing, data center, and technology investment, energy demand is rapidly increasing. Natural Allies is focused on helping Wisconsin meet these needs sustainably by advancing a balanced energy approach that partners renewables with natural gas to cut emissions, strengthen reliability, and keep costs affordable for families and businesses.

Barca joins an accomplished group of Democratic leaders on the Natural Allies Leadership Council, including former U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA), former Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH), former Congressman Kendrick Meek (D-FL), and former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter (D) — all committed to building a durable bipartisan consensus around clean, reliable, and affordable energy.

About Peter Barca
Peter Barca is an American Democratic politician from Kenosha, Wisconsin. He served as the 14th Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (2019–2024) in the administration of Governor Tony Evers. He was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District in 2024 and previously represented the district during the 103rd Congress (1993–1995). Barca also served nine terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1985–1993, 2009–2019), where he was elected Democratic Floor Leader from 2011 to 2017. He represented the north side of Kenosha and part of Somers. Between his legislative service, he served as the Midwest Regional Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration under President Bill Clinton.
