WEST ALLIS, WI —- Former West Allis Alderman Angelito Tenorio announced today that he is strongly considering a run to represent West Allis in the Wisconsin State Assembly’s 14th District.

Angelito Tenorio is the son of Filipino immigrants who came to West Allis in hopes of finding a better life. He grew up in West Allis where he served on the Common Council. He also served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and is the proud product of a union household.

“I grew up in West Allis and have a deep love for my hometown. My whole life has been committed to public service from my time serving in the Wisconsin Army National Guard to my experiences serving on the West Allis Common Council,” said Tenorio. “I have been on the frontlines of combating climate change, investing in our public schools, fighting for good paying union jobs, and to make our community a place where everyone can be safe and thrive together. I have the experience to help make West Allis the best place it can be for all people.”

Tenorio has always worked in public service and advocacy. He served as Engagement and Development Manager for Wisconsin Conservation Voters, an environmental advocacy nonprofit. In addition to his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Tenorio has most recently been pursuing a Master’s degree from Fairfield University in Connecticut, where he has also been serving as a paraeducator and substitute teacher. Tenorio is returning home to West Allis with a broader perspective as a steadfast advocate for our kids, teachers, and public schools.

Tenorio is a proven champion of Wisconsin values and is proud to have earned the support of dozens of community leaders, organized labor, environmental advocates, and progressive organizations including the Wisconsin Working Families Party, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Conservation Voters in previous campaigns for West Allis Alderman, and Wisconsin State Treasurer.

“From leading the campaign to ban LGBTQ+ conversion therapy in West Allis, to passing a resolution supporting our Asian American Pacific Islander community, I have the drive and experience to make West Allis a better place for all to live and thrive,” said Tenorio. “I believe in fighting to make healthcare more accessible, advocating for reproductive rights, working to make our communities safer, and investing in the future of West Allis and our great state. I believe in the power of people from all backgrounds coming together to make a difference for the better.”
