Flood Recovery Distribution Event Taking Place Saturday
Alderwoman Larresa Taylor and Alderman Mark Chambers, Jr. want to inform residents that this Saturday, August 23 from 1 – 4 p.m. supplies will be distributed to flood victims at Lamb of God Missionary Baptist Church, 8415 W. Bradley Rd. The flood recovery event is hosted by The Lamb of God Church, in partnership with the National Baptist Convention, the Wisconsin General Baptist State Convention, AirFlow Corp, and the Epsilon Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Items to be distributed at the event include cleaning supplies, diapers, blankets, electronics chargers, various clothing items and more. Additionally, volunteers are needed both today – Friday, August 22 to prepare for the event as well as on Saturday, August 23 during the event. Those interested can find further information here.
“Members of the community are still dealing with the aftermath of the recent floods, and events like this one on Saturday offer free resources to assist in the recovery process,” said Alderman Chambers. “I want to extend a sincere thank you to those putting on this event to support the community, and encourage those in need to take advantage of this opportunity. I look forward to being there tomorrow and supporting this recovery effort.”
