Fitzgerald Statement on Impeachment Inquiry into President Joe Biden

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) released the following statement in response to Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s announcement of a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

“My full support is behind Speaker Kevin McCarthy for his decision to formally open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden” said Rep. Fitzgerald. “For months, House Republicans have uncovered a trove of information through congressional investigations that point to a pattern of corruption and abuse of power from President Biden. An impeachment inquiry is not only a natural next step to gather more information, but a constitutional duty bestowed upon us as members of Congress. As always, we will follow the facts and let truth prevail.”

Congressman Fitzgerald sits on the House Judiciary Committee, one of three committees Speaker McCarthy has tasked with carrying out the impeachment inquiry.

Wait a minute, McCarthy claimed that they needed to instigate impeachment process because the House committee was unable to get the evidence they needed to impeach. Now Fitzgerald says they actually have the evidence. So which is it? Actually this whole business smacks of kindergarten histrionics.
