First Phase of American Family Insurance Amphitheater Construction Project is 90% Complete
Summerfest and Cousins Subs to Mark Milestone with Free Lunch for Construction Workers
MILWAUKEE, WI (May 13, 2019) – Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance along with Cousins Subs® is celebrating the latest construction milestone of the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. The first phase of the project is 90% completed and will make its debut during Summerfest 2019. To celebrate this landmark and the launch of the Big Gig Giveaway contest, Cousins Subs is providing free lunch today to over 100 members of the construction crew.
The Big Gig Giveaway contest runs now through June 16, fans can enter to win a VIP experience including two tickets to an American Family Insurance Amphitheater concert, VIP deck access, Ticketmaster Terrace passes, Summerfest store gift card, dinner courtesy of Cousins Subs, and parking. Cousins Subs will also be debuting the Piggy Mac Sub, a specialty menu item, which is only available on the festival grounds during the 11 days of Summerfest. The decadent sub features pulled pork, bacon, onion, Wisconsin Smoked Gouda, and Cousins new Wisconsin Mac & Cheese on Italian Bread. The American Family Insurance Amphitheater construction crew will be the first to try the Cousins Piggy Mac Sub.
Construction on the first phase of the American Family Insurance Amphitheater project is focused on improvements to the infrastructure and back-of-house areas. In February 2019, a portion of the current roof was raised from 36’ to 65’ to accommodate the largest tours. Other features during phase one include: a removable stage and flat floor seating in front of the stage, 19 state-of-the-art dressing rooms, new production spaces, dining facilities with catering for 150, nine loading docks with the ability to accommodate 13 semis at one time, two permanent LED walls on either side of the stage, and much more. The second phase will begin immediately after Summerfest with the grand opening of the new American Family Insurance Amphitheater in 2020.
